The Fine Arts, Antiques, Rare Books Division
at
www.TheDiscriminatingCollector.com

The primary purpose of this division of Jensen & Walker, Inc. is to feature the fine art of California Impressionist Robert W. Jensen. However, in addition, this web site will be providing veteran collectors all over the world with a new source of historic original prints, i.e. lithographs, etchings, engravings, serigraphs, and other media that both principals in the firm have been collecting for more than forty years. The collections are primarily in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, but some items date back as far as the 1500s.

When the phrase "veteran collectors" is used, it is not to exclude anyone who is just beginning to discover the joys collecting. And for any newcomers to the field, some interesting information about collecting is provided in another part of the site answering such questions as: What is an Original Print? and some of the terms used are defined.

For book lovers, the J&W library which is bursting at the seams from being added to for some four decades is now being catalogued and will be offered for sale. There are just a few books ready for sale as the site is launched. More will be added all the time, from early printed books to fine bindings, first editions, inscribed copies, and just interesting books.

Porcelains, ceramics and bronze sculptures are yet other areas of interest, and so will be presented over the coming months. And of course, there will be unique collectibles.

All of this takes a great deal of time, cataloguing, photographing, and preparing the material for the web, so items will be added periodically. For that reason, we hope those of you who visit the site, will register so that you can be notified when new items are posted, be it a new collection of Jensen paintings, antiquarian books or prints, or objects d'art. And meanwhile, if you are looking for something specific that you don't see on the site yet, e-mail J&W with your query and every effort will be made to find the object for you.
